Hi, i'm having difficulties with the central locking on my fiesta as it unlocks itself every time I lock it. The problem started a couple of days ago and no matter how I try to lock it the locks begin to 'whir' after a few seconds and then unlock.

I have a remote key but this has not worked for quite some time so I lock the car just using the key in the driver’s door. Now when I do this all the doors lock but then unlock shortly afterwards. I've tried locking each door separately on the inside and this worked for a short while (locking the back doors, then passenger door, then the driver’s door on the outside) but this does not work anymore.

My local garage told me that because it’s likely to be an electrics fault it needs to be looked at someone more specialist than them (I have it booked in for next week). In the meantime I am unable to lock my car and obviously this is a bit of a worry! Is there any way to 'override' whatever keeps unlocking the doors - i've tried removing the two central locking fuses from inside the car but this has not made a difference.
