Mercedes C 250 Estate P reg (1997) - Indicators not working - Tenderfoot

Driving home the other day I found my indicators had stopped working. When I got home I played around a little and realised the hazard flasher was dead too, so was the windscreen wiper intermittent position, the two faster speeds worked properly though. Also when I locked the car the indicators flashed as usual.

Next morning everything was working fine again so crossing my fingers I hoped it was a one-off. No such luck, the same happened again, only to start working after the car had been standing a few hours.

Any ideas please?
