Toyota Hiace - Thinking of buying a van - mss1tw

Any experiences with the Toyota Hiace on here?

Probably a 1996 - 1999 diesel version.

Be handy to know if they are timing belt or chain.

As they're Toyota I'm expecting it to be pretty reliable!

I know nothing vans but I'd delete the second question. Timing chains simply replace one set of problems for another set-arguably worse!

So expect it to be used and abused out of all normal paradigms, until the suspension squeaks.
