Skoda Fabia - Water leaks on Skoda Fabia. - Brian Farebrother.
Hi Guys,
Ihave just come across this Forum, and it really scares me as i have been thinking of buying a Fabia to replace my Felica. As regards the water leaks that have been reported by members, i will add my findings on the subject. Having been a car sprayer for some 35 years, i can recall the time that i did a lot of work for a Skoda Dealer. When the first Fabia models came out it was;nt long before we noticed rust bubbles appearing along the weather strips at the top of the rear doors. Now i know why, did mention it to the Dealer, but as the cars had come in the workshop for accident damage, it fell on deaf ears. Seems to me if you are going to cure this problem by re-sealing the bottom of the doof seal, you are only trapping the water in the door panel and causing more moisture to corrode the panel. If you see lots of little bubbles along the top of the door, it;s too late. You;ve got metal maggot in your doors.
