why does our 1997 tvr not want to start again when hot? i.e stopping for petrol!!??

You need a daignostic code read. I suspect the ECU element of the temp sensor is faulty and the engine does not know it is hot. When is does tart how does it run in the first few seconds, rough, cought, slutter, not on all pots, what. Has your MPG fallen recently, another sure sign. Regards Peter

These have the dreadfull Lucas injectors that suffer from leaking when hot, so may just be flooding the engine of fuel when hot. ECU and temp sensors a well known issue so checkm first as Peter D suggested.

Also when hot remove the oil filler cap whilst idling ( watch out for hot oil splash ) and place a piece of paper over the filler cap, if it blows away all the time its ok but if ity gets sucked down over the filler hole the inlet manifold may be leaking , common issue on the V8
