Nissan Note - Noisy Nissan Note - Paul77C

Hi

After a bit of advice about my 2008 Nissan Note 1600 Auto, done about 25k. About 3 months ago it started making a squeeling fan belt noise. The dealer sorted out new auxillary belt under warranty, and was serviced at the same time.

This week when first started after being sat for several hours it makes a loud noise that sounds like metal on metal for the first 2-3 minutes then settles but sounds a bit rattly.

Oil levels are fine and the oil warning light goes out quickly.

The car is under warranty for another month or so and is off to the dealer next week, but wondered if this is more likely to be related to the first issue with the belt or something more sinister like oil starvation?

Sounds like my problem and is almost certainly noise from one or more of the hydraulic tappets valve lifter. Mine seems to have cleared itself but as a precaution I will have the engine flushed at next oil and filter change. Good luck
