if someone could answer these quick questions it would be appreciated:
1 - where is the fuel filter
2 - is there a MAF sensor, and if so where can it be found?
i'm asking this on behalf of a friend, and am miles from his car, so can't find them for him.

The fuel filter is located under the car near the rear axle on the drivers side next to fuel pump and accumulator.
what is a MAF sensor? please explain more so i can help

it is a device that measures the air flow rate to the engine, which i assume this car will have, as I understand it is an open loop fuel injection system.

You mean the airflow meter. This is an integral part of the fuel injection system and comprises a plunger next to the fuel metering unit. This a mechanical device and is not an electrical sensor.

the 16V uses mechanical K-Jet fuel injection. It uses some sort of a flap to measure air intake, just passed the air filter.
