....... it was first launched?

Mazda are releasing a 20th anniversary edition. Thats 2 decades of pretty much the same car!

It debuted when the Citroen XM was European Car of the Year.
In the same year, the Rover Metro was launched, and Skoda 130L, Lada Riva 1200L and Yugo 511 were all still about!

Can't say its not been a durable design!

I went on the original MX5 Press launch in Greece - it was in 1989.

We fell in love with it in a very short space of time.....

The overall shape of the MX-5 may be similar (itself heavily influenced by the much older Lotus Elan) but under the skin it has completely changed. It's like saying the Toyota Corrola is the world's best selling car. It's not, but it is the world's best-selling car BADGE
