my car stop when i take cam sensor off the car start but it rattles very bad so i replaced new cam sensor still have the same problem any solutions?

hi is it petrol or diesel. if diesel sounds like your timing belt has sliped/ jumped a tooth or two as car will run in get home mode if 1 sensor goes down. if petrol i would think the vvt unit either gear or acutator at fault. is there any codes showing or the eml on? that might give you a place to start
