Thinking of buying a Zetec estate. Understand this means sport suspension. Area I live in has lots of speed bumps. Will the sports suspension make the ride even more uncomfortable?

Titanium-spec cars are supposed to have a bit more give in the suspension, but no Focus is what you would call softly-sprung.
To me, the difference between sports and non-sports suspension is not huge, although you would ideally want to try an example of each car yourself.
Focuses in general are not brilliant over speed humps, but I don't think many cars are.

My parents (in their 60's) have a 57 plate Focus Zetec and also live in a built up area.
They find the car a joy to be in and have never once complained about it being a hard ride.

I wouldn't worry too much. Its only a focus after all, not a bone shaking M3 with 20inch wheels and rubber band tyres!
actually if you are loading up the estate the firm springs are all to the good
