Fuel Injector change? - Martin
In another thread you mention the need to change fuel injectors on a Passat. Does anyone have any experience of when to change the injectors on the VW engined Audi 80 16V?
Re: Fuel Injector change? - Guy Lacey
I ran a VAG 16V engine for 160,000miles without change of injectors. Good fuel, good fuel filter and regular system flush will help (FORTE). Nowhere near an expert but suggest injector life only an issue on modern diesels? (HJ?)

Martin,
Guy is correct with advice to use 'good' (ie non-supermarket) fuel, a regular fuel system cleaner, and regular (I recommend 24,000 miles) fuel filter change. Unless an injector develops a particular fault there should be no set mileage for replacement. Some injector faults are readily diagnosed in situ, but poor spray patterns may only be proven by examination with the injectors out of the engine and run on a test bench.

Thx Adam Tune-Up.

See Dave - I *do* know something.
