03 1.8t Poor throttle control, surge. - Peasant
Hi
I have a Passat 1.8t @ 52K miles which has a problem with throttle response / throttle control. I find I have to "hunt" for the best throttle pedal position to get best response, particularly at low revs. Like an old over carburated car :-)
I find sometimes as I come off the gas it gives a bit more power (surges once)
Seems to make too much power at small 1/3 or 1/4 throttle opening.
Leaving the throttle at 1/3 position it will continue to pull through the range building power as the Turbo adds it.
Get unintentional wheelspin as a result

Boost gauge showed normal 11.5 PS boost,
N75 is new, with new hoses
Throttle pedal replaced with good secondhand
Boost pressure sensor on intercooler new.
Most of the hoses have been replaced.
Bypass valve new.
Engine is stock unchipped.
Bosch test centre showed 0 faults.

Or have I just described normal passat behaviour :-)
