02 1.7 Approx idea of cam belt change cost? - Orphius
Hi All,

Could I get an approx cost of a cam belt change for a Vauxhall Astra 2002 1.7DTi LS model.

Its done 101500 miles which is over the maximum spec for replacing the belt (i'm assuming its still on its first belt- nothing in the service history to say otherwise.)

I would imagine it would need the water pump doing at the same time.

Its my partners car, we don't have lot of money so want to make sure we aren't fleeced. Having a good idea of what it SHOULD cost as we ring around would be great.

It's fairly straightforward - say £150-£200 top end.

No need to do the water pump as it's driven by the auxiliary belt.
