Looking through last month's new car registrations, one set of figures that jumped out at me was Renault, down 64% on May 08 (2941 cars this May vs 8191 cars last May).
Is there any specific reason (model change etc) that would cause them to be so down so much?
(Maybe worth a trip to a Renault dealer to see if there are stonking deals to be had!).

Don't know if this is the reason but I remember reading a piece about the head man of Renault. He was claiming that they were pulling away from some of the very low profit leasing deals they were doing with the leasing companies due to the credit crunch.
That could be a big part of it...

Maybe more a question of what deals did they have the previous May to make their sales so high?

I didn't look at individual months but their 2008 average was 7500cars so May wasn't too different.
I hadn't even realised there was a facelift Clio coming through!

Priced themselves out of the Motability market and other low profit leasing deals. Business decision.
