Land/Rover Discovery - Motel
Can anybody help please my remote will only work
some times i have had a new battery fitted but still
it wont work all the time can anybody tell me were i can get the chip checked out please

Motel,
Does this happen at the same places, or is it random?
Could be radio interference - my Opel remote doesn't work:
(a) near a certain hole-in-the-wall bank
(b) near the fire/ambulance station
(c) near a TV relay station.

Try putting the keyfob under your chin and then press the remote.
If this works your in an area where there is some interference as Ian suggests. Apparently your body will act as a better conductor for the signal. Sounds daft but it works.

Did you fit the new battery? If so when you took the old one out did you press the remote for ten seconds to de activate and then fitted the new batteries?

Make a note of the Re-synchronise procedure of the handset as shown in the handbook and carry in your wallet in case you get truly locked out.
