04 2.0 Rear suspension bushes - bathtub tom
Has anyone any experience of the longevity of the of the replacement bushes being glued in?

My daughter's thinking of buying one of these, but she knows the owner's been told it's got split rear bushes.

We were wondering if it's worth getting the modified bushes fitted or biting the bullet and getting a new subframe fitted.

If she buys it, she intends to keep it for some time.

Bump!

I've looked at the car she's interested in. It rattles from the rear end on bumps (It's done 40k miles).

The rear subframe mounts have the dimpled skirt separating from their metal body. Is this typical of the problem? I can see no sign of splitting.

get the estate , it does not have this problem- and is far more useful IMH

Or if you insist on the HB , get a price at a reputable garage and deduct it from the offer you are to make.

BTW, these cars are really cheap now, and you should be paying a few thou for them only
