04 1.8 - replacing the door mirror glass - KevHull87
I now have a backing plate bought with replacement glass for the wing mirror. Does anyone have any tips as to the easiest way to attach the backing plate to the wing mirror.

The new glass should have a sticky backing. Peel it off, then stick it to the remains of the old one. This is what I did in January, and it has survived use of heated mirrors and the car wash since.

I would get a refund and then get the job done properly.

I went to my local friendly indie Ford specialist.
Bought the proper (heated ) door mirror.
They offered to fit it for £3 and before I had time to put my PIN in to pay for it , the new mirror was fitted.

I feel sure you can get a similar deal locally.
IIRC it was about £20 v £7 from Halfords.
