98 1.0 - petrol cap trouble - VWPolo98
Hi

I know this may sound like a stupid question but i have recently been given a 98 VW polo. Yesterday i came to fill it up and couldn't get the petrol cap off.
Is there a special way of getting this off, which I haven't heard of? Looks straight forward - unlock (manually) and turn?!

Someone help! The petrol light is on and i have no way of getting in to fill it up!

If it's the same as the Golf; hold the cap still and turn key anti-clockwise 180°, then unscrew filler cap.... (any help ?!?!)

Many cars now have a torque setting on the fuel cap. You turn it until it clicks, presumably to ensure the gasket seats adequately to perform a decent seal with the filler neck.

I find it quite difficult to undo some of these caps (arthritis).

Get a gorilla to give it a go! ;>)
