Does anyone know what the latest news about the Lord Ahmed fatal crash is? I am aware that sentencing was adjourned until the 19th of Jan and this is the most up to date information I have been able to find. I have not heard anything about the 19/01 hearing.
Can anyone enlighten me?

Strangely quiet on the web - although he's obviously not in prison as he was in the Lords' on the 27th "threatening Parliament"

Wonder if he'll be kicked out on the new rules on behaviour

Thanks for the info.
It's very interesting to note that today a girl has been sentanced today for 21 months for killing another motorist in almost identical circumstances to the Lord Ahmed case. I really think that this sentence has set a precedent for the Ahmed case. What's the betting that he gets less though?

...What's the betting that he gets less though?...
No bet at all, he admits dangerous driving, not death by dangerous drving - big difference, particularly if you are the one that's doing the admitting.
Lord Ahmed is not being dealt with for causing the death of anyone.

So who, if was'nt Lord Ahmed, was responsible for the poor chaps death?

I sense you have more than a casual interest in this case.

Not really, but I fear it will turn it to be an example of 'one rule for them and another for the rest of us'.

An understandable fear, but unless we see otherwise, I think we have to assume the police accident investigators and CPS lawyers had enough integrity to do their jobs properly.
If so, the correct charges will have been laid against the correct person.
I think we all know of unrelated cases where peers have been jailed, which suggests this country is not in the habit of letting 'them' get away with it.

But the peer who did go to jail had burnt his boats with all the cronies who might have supported him.
