BMW 3-Series E36 (1991 - 1998) - 98 1.8 ABS light stalling MOT pass!

98 1.8 ABS light stalling MOT pass! - BeemerCoupe
My ABS warning light is on on the dash display. This did only come on intermittently but typically when it came to MOT time it is on all the time.

The garage have hooked it up to the diagnostic machine and it's not showing as having any faults with the ABS but they won't pass it with the light on even though they can't find a fault.

Any ideas greatly appreciated!

Try Disconnecting battery - leave 10 mins and re-connect - I had EML on Honda and every few weeks it lit up.

what diagnostics - cheaper diag kit will not always read abs controllers.

couldn't say but its not a bmw dealer so they may not have the best kit.

Well, I would do quick checks like fuse/power/earth to the controller just to make sure that it is getting power, if that all checks out pop along to a bmw specialist and get them to check.
