1994 1.1 bleeding coolant system - davethepaint
Hi there new to the forum so hi to everyone,just a quick question that members may be able to help with.I have a Rover Metro 1.1s that I have replaced the radiator in but I am having trouble bleeding the air from the system.Does anyone have a foolproof way of bleeding the car Thanks Dave.

yes
top the expansion tank half way run engine till thermostat opens and it should self bleed
stop enging check water top as nessery

They can be a pain to bleed properly - dont forget the plastic bleed screw on the heater matrix pipe as I found this used to cause me no end of problems.

Safest way is to get it vacuum filled if you get a persistant air lock somewhere

The secret is to fill the system very slowly and ensure that both bleed points are open.
Squeezing the hoses (including the heater) whilst filling also helps.
