2000 1.8 heater plugs - Andrea
does anyone have any ideas as to why the heater plugs keep burning out ? the last set only lasted 16months and the set before that only 6 months . All the heater plugs are ruined

What make were the plugs you fitted?

They really vary in terms of longevity. Beru are supposed to be the best, although I've had good service from Bosch too.

I've had certain brands of cheap glowplug (no naming and shaming) last a matter of days.

Make sure you use the correct voltage and good quality plugs.

Best to change all 4 then you know were you are.

Take the injectors out, and have them tested for opening pressure, spray patter, and leakage. A poor spray pattern in particular can ruin glow plugs in short time.
