1997 2.0 Oil Leak - mikeweathers
Oil leak from back of engine, oil ends up on exhaust pipe just in front of catalyst
Thought it could be oil pressure switch but have re-installed about 6 times with no sucess

Either:
I am missing something regarding the reinstallation
Or:
The leak is elsewhere

There is no room to see or do a lot, can anyone help?
Is there a knack to sealing the switch (it looks like a parallel thread)
Is there a point on the back of the engine that could leak

The oil leaks THROUGH the switch not past the threads, renew it anyway.
The cam cover gaskets can weep on these or I have seen the breather hose from the top right of the cam cover rot and split. Also if the PCValve on the front right of the block below #4 exhaust port is blocked the crankcase overpressurises and blows oil through this pipe into the air filter box, messy!
Finally the threaded stub that the oil filter screws on to can come loose and partially unwind each time the filter is changed, I have seen oil leaking from there.
I think the switch is the problem, replaced many.

OK, new switch it is
What do you recommend for sealing the switch threads?
