Hi guys.... Which is the cheapest way of replacing the windscreen with no insurance? is it possible to DIY? thanks

Windscreen is bonded in and requires cutting out with a cheesewire type cutter and various other windscreen removal tools. Not really a DIY job that you would want to take on.
You could try phoning around your local windscreen fitters and ask how much they charge for a cash deal, or approach a windscreen fitter out in his van and ask whether he'll do you a 'cash in hand' deal of some kind that will benifit both him and yourself.

Our local w/screen business was quite happy to quote for a "non-insurance" job.

hi, it can be done diy but its not too expensive to have it done by independent mobile windscreen fitters. i was quoted between £75-£95 all in about three years ago. look in the back of an auto trader for local fitters.
