Hi all

Just bought 1995 306 xrdt, the previous owner has lost the remote central locking key.

Luckily I have a spare accident damaged 1995 306 xrd same 4 door, same everything.

I have taken the IR unit from the roof lining and moved it into the new car and the unit underneth the drivers seat as well but so far the blip key does not work?
Locking with the key remains OK.

Any ideas if there is anything else that needs replacing?

Usually a matched blip and receiver from another car (that was working beforehand and hasn't been soaked in water from a leaking roof aerial base) will work in the manner in which you have fitted it.

Was it working before it was removed from the donor vehicle?

have you tried resynching the key to the car? iirc turn the ignition to setting but don't start the car (use spare key) then point the key at the receiver and press the button withing 10 seconds, you may need to repeatedly press the button. also if your mobile phone has a video camera on it turn the camera on point the key and it and press the button, if the ir is working properly you will see it flash on the camera
