2002 2.5TD Engine Management light-generic reader? - Coxy
Hi My engine management light has came on breifly today in my VW Transporter. Every time this has happened in various vehicles its always cost much more to run the software than it has to get the part.
Last time I had it done on the VW I think it was ~£70

Will the generic readers on ebay do the trick?

e.g.:
cgi.ebay.co.uk/VOLKSWAGEN-AUDI-SEAT-SKODA-CAR-FAUL...m

P.S. My brake lights didnt go off yesterday so Im thinking a dodgy switch (which was exactly what it was last time).

If the brake light switch has failed [again!] then that will put the MIL light on. ["Brake pedal position switch - implausible signal."]

Fit a new switch [or two... or three] and that should fix it.

I recently bought one of these readers for my 94 golf, and they are spot on. But try this place

If you are unsure which one to get give them a call first and check. You will get a book with all the fault codes and definitions in it.
good luck
