Cats eyes - Mikey Jay
These days in a contra flow system I notice thousands of temporary cats eyes installed. Is there a machine they use for this. How does it work and how do they get them up again. It just seems quite a feat to do this. Kind regards MikeyJay

I'm no expert but IIRC I think they're reflective traffistuds rather than the glass-bead cats' eyes and they're stuck to the road surface with an epoxy resin type adhesive.

Usually a heavy truck running over them gets them up again ;o]

But I stand to be corrected.....

Cats eyes - smokie
I remember sliding to work one day in SE Kent about 15 years ago after the snow ploughs had been along our country lane.

They had managed to uproot many many cats eyes, which were littered along the road.

Those things have a huge root like a molar, about a foot long, and heavy with it. Probably more hazardous than the snow.
