94 1.6 8v Fuel consumption increased. - expatmanc
1994 145 1.6 boxer 8v. Starship miles but ultra reliable has suddenly started to drink petrol. No other symptoms. Performance same, starts ok no smoke. I'm a bit stumped, so any one any pearls of wisdom? Cheers all

Possibly overfuelling due to a faulty sensor's reading. Coolant temp; MAP [or it's hose]; throttle position; oxygen sensor.

The only way to tell is to get it plugged in and the sensor's checked in live-data. Is this a GM or Bosch system?

I should have mentioned to also check any and all causes of rolling drag; anything from a flat tyre to seized calipers or handbrake cables.... [Alfas don't do that; do they?]
