I saw their website a while ago & it isn't for me (9 year old Boxster). This is my point of view (and I am quite paranoid about care of my car):

I'm guessing they are a start-up using a call-centre & a network of existing & cheap non-specialist garages to outsource to i.e. Phil Mitchels 'The Arches', who whilst may well do a good job, you couldn't build a relationship with or directly contact to ascertain whether you really trust them. I certainly wouldn't let an operation like that near my car as they need specialist knowledge & experience to do jobs right. Also on some Porkers like 928's you need to take the engine out to access the last set of sparks so you'd only want a specialist doing this. If you have a problem or questions afterwards I'd rather be able to drive up there & talk to someone face-to-face. They aren't cheaper than my specialist, although they might be for a big BMW or Merc - however with that sort of car, I'd want to maintain FMDSH to help ensure goodwill with any future expensive problems, as others pointed out on a recent thread

Maybe if you had a common & well-known car like a Mondeo / Omega etc you could be quids in with more chance of everything being done right & it's definitely convienient.

By the time you've added on the £5 oil disposal charge and VAT, £145 / £216 for Vauxhall Astra are more than dealers round here, although that might be more attractive down south.

Shoei, I suggest a wee forum search would be in order before you go any further... Been 'discussed' before...

The thread comes up as 'hidden' - is that due to the 'name and shame' policy perhaps? Am intrigued now.

(It was hidden in error. What should have only been one post hidden resulted in the whole thread being hidden. The link should now work - webmaster)

Oh dear... an Inspection II for my BMW 523i with them is £230 more expensive than a main dealer for me.

On a Focus their prices match the main dealer's exactly.

Perhaps not then.

Thanks for your reply guys, 2003 Golf 1.6. Cheaper to take it to VW in any case and as you pointed out at least a face to deal with if it goes wrong.
