Today, I went to a Ford dealer to obtain a part (a clamp which fits around the end of the exhaust manifold) for my 1999 Ka. After looking up the part on the computer system and examining various exploded diagrams, the part could not be found and, as far as the Ford parts system is concerned, doesn?t exist and is therefore unobtainable. In the real world, the part very definitely does exist: it appears in a photo in the Haynes manual and I?ve got the rusted remains of such a clamp attached to my Ka
Has anyone encountered such a problem when trying to obtain a part (any type of part for any vehicle)?
The Ford dealer suggested that I try Kwik Fit.

This clamp is to hold the cover to make the engine bay look pretty i believe?
cant believe your local ford dealer cant suss this for you (ok i lied on that bit)
Too many dealers are depending on chassis numbers and reg numbers, then they try to tell you your vehicle doesnt exist, quite funny sometimes, but, also can be a real pain.

Try www.fordpartsuk.com - the lads from there have gone well beyond the call of duty to find obscure parts for me in the past.
