Bent valves, possible damaged piston if at a fast speed put another lump in! good luck

According to Autodata ...
70,000 - 72,000 or 5 years depending on service intervals, 72,000 or 5 years if it is 16valve.

My wife's Clio broke a timing belt only 29k after a change of belt and pulley etc - it was the water pump which did it! The engine was wrecked beyond repair as it happened as the car was leaving a motorway at high revs. We scrapped the car.

More evidence for the golden rule, always replace the lot, pump, belt, pulleys.
