It's a mystery! (206CC Brake reserv.) - Saltrampen
My Colleague's 02 206 CC suffered a loss of brake fluid last week. Took it to Peugeot, who were surprised to find the fluid reservior had a split in it. They claim they've never seen this happen on a 206 before. (Wasn't too expensive to repair c. £40)
The Servo was replaced a month ago, and she has been driving over rough ground recently.
Question is: Could this be due to some mishandling when servo was replaced OR can driving over rough ground
do this (seems unlikely) and has anyone had reservior split on their car and what caused it?
Maybe screwing the cap down too vigoursly?
Thanks
S.

New servo is the factor here - rough handling rather than rough ground!

must agree some heavy handed mechanic as overtightened. never seen one split in 20 years.

Saw the Bill for this, I noticed there was no labour charge.(ie labour 0.00)
Although they didn't admit anything, they were apologetic they didn't spot this during Servo swap.

Reading between the lines, sounds like they believe that there is some possibility they could have done it..
...which is better than some dealers I can think of...then again they did come in the top 3 peugeot dealers in UK for Customer service...
