Grand Scenic hazard lights and braking - grandscenic2.0T
Hi,

I have a Renault grand scenic 2.0T privilege, i have noticed a few times that i have had to slam on the anchors the hazard lights flash rapidly and will not stop until i press the hazard warning button,
Does anybody know if i am able to turn this feature off?

cheers

Has your Scenic got Emergency Brake Assist? Had a look in the handbook?

Lots of modern cars do this, it's normal and in the handbook.

Had a Ren hire car a couple of years ago that did this.

It is a 'safety' device: ie you slam on brakes and it automatically flashes hazard lights to warn people behind of a possible hazard. You have to cancel them manually.

Yeah, safety feature that is mentioned in the handbook.
I have had a Scenic for nearly 3 years now and only activated it once when a kid ran out in front of me. How have you managed to activate it so many times already?

thanks for the replies, the thing is, that i haven't had to brake particularly hard at all before the hazard lights come on, i've only had to slam them on once, when i nearly had a fight with an oak tree that had fallen into the road, is there any way of turning this "feature" off??
thanks
