This is a car forum!
My sister lives in Liverpool, works in Chester and has a freshly acquired 95 ZX turbo-diesel with 115k miles. The car is reported to be in excellent condition but the documented service history stops three years ago at 90k miles at which point the timing belt was changed. I have recommended oil and all filter change she also reports that the glow plugs need replacing (7 years driving xuds). Money is very tight. I am in Tyrone so a bit far to go to service car. So:

Does the timing belt need done?

Any recommendations for reliable trustworthy reasonably priced garages near her? ie ones that will change all glow plugs without ringing them etc. She has recieved quotes of up to 170+vat for a 'full' service. (what is a full service????)

Right well the stated cambelt time for the XUD is somewhere around 60k but i personally would do it sooner, if it's going in for a full service i'd be tempted to get it done.

A full service can range from oil & filter, air filter, fuel filter, glowplugs, timing belt and all fluids topped up and brakes checked to an oil and filter change with a quick once over and completion of a "112 point safety check".

The "full" service question was meant to be rhetorical. People often ask for a full service and receive a full service with neither party properly able to define a full service.

What is it likely to cost to get oil changed fuel,air,oil filters and glowplugs changed (with quality plugs) the timing belt done and a quick check of brakes, front suspension, gaters, other fluids.

Can anyone recommend where she can go
