p reg megane squeal - carhater
my p reg meganne has started squealing each time I start up. Someone has said it's prob just fanbelt that needs replacing. That seems really easy. Is it likely to be this simple or could it be something more expensive?

Prove it by spraying water on the belt, to see if it stops or changes the squeal.

Is on just starting or when you turn the steering wheel (assuming PAS) as the load goes on the pump?

You may find the belt is old polished and slipping.

Thanks for your help, feel relieved that it probably isn't going to cost an arm and a leg to sort out. It is just on starting and not when turning.
