FOCUS GEARBOX HELP PLEASE

FOCUS GEARBOX HELP PLEASE - rob baker
bought 2nd hand focus estate from garage. first time came to engage reverse it wouldnt. in fact it would only engage 1st and 2nd. garage have repaired it (they took it to specialist gearbox company - broken gear of some kind appaarently). now works fine BUT gears 3 and 4 are not in line. a small dogleg. so when changing down from 4th to 3rd you dont just push straight forward you have to push at an angle to take account of the dog leg. is this ok or do i need to ask the garage to look at it again? grateful for any advice. r

I would be back to the garage first thing in the morning and I would want either a new gearbox or my money back.

Sounds like the selector mechanism needs adjustment - I would reject this car, what else might go wrong!
