Carina E Cambelt Change - carina eman

Does anyone know how to change the cambelt on a 1993 carina e 1600 4A-FE Engine,are any special tools required.I am a mechanic but have not worked on a Toyota.I have just got the car and it has 115k on the clock, last known change 61k. Do any pulleys need changing with the belt. Cheers.

You'll find it very simple except you may need a puller to remove crank pulley.Although its a twin cam engine there is only one belt driven cam sprocket to line up and cam and crank marks are easy to see.Obviously check the tensioner for roughness and replace tensioner spring if weak or distorted.
