306 power steering

306 power steering - thomp1983
hi, the power steering pump has self destructed on my 306 1.9td '96,i rang a breakers and they said i need to know the pulley size as there is a quarter inch difference between them, how can i find this out as i don't have the pulley anymore? will peugeot know?

also the more important thing is are the pumps the same on the citroen zx/xantia as i know where i can get those parts cheap?

My garage got me a recon pump for about £110 plus vat two or three years ago. I would think it is the same pump as ZX Xsara, though maybe not Xantia.

I would be wary of boying Citroen pas pumps on a Pug. I was once wrongly given a citroen pas pump for my pug. They looked identical, but when it came to fixing, one of the fixing holes was slightly off position, and it would not fix. Thats when the motor factor realised, and gave me the right pas pump.

got another 306 pump in the end off of a m reg dturbo assume it'll be the same as my n reg only cost £10 aswell
