Audi A6 - starting when warm

Audi A6 - starting when warm - Nsar
Mine has started not to like starting when the engine is warm. Cold is fine, but when warm I have to dab the accelerator and then rev the engine otherwise it fades and dies before I have time to select drive and move off. Any thoughts?

Do you do many short trips? Like my old 100E, it could be clogging up. Try the VAG injector cleaner, part number G 001 700 03.

Often caused by fuel vapourisation.check to see if a heat sheald as slipped or fuel pipe too near a hose

Thanks for that, it coincides with a smell of petrol so vapourisation could be the issue

Hi, I would check/replace the coolant temp sensor if its reading wrong ( which is quite common ) it could be over fueling which could cause your engine to slightly flood on start up when cold and coinside with the fuel smell! Also if its starting up fine when its cold would also tie in with this fault!!!
