Clutch noise

Clutch noise - Matt
Dear all

Am I right in thinking that when a clutch makes a 'stretched spring' noise when pressed to the floor, the clutch cable is on it's way out? (I have a 98 mondeo)

Try greasing the spring where it attaches to the pedal.
I don't think it means the cable is about to break.

I THOUGHT EARLY MONDEOS HAD CABLES, AND LATER ONES WENT HYDRAULIC.

HJ is right this mondeo (98) has got hydraulic clutch.

Check the return spring at the pedal - it may just be muddy/rusty, and protesting when coiled up tightly.
