Hi,
Please help me! I have bought a 05 reg. Seat Ibiza 1.4 sport.I`m satisfied with the car performance, but I have problem with the road noise. The noise is very nerve-wrecking when I`m driving on a rough surface. What can I do to decrease the noise level???

What sort of noise? I've got an Ibiza Tdi which isn't particularly quiet I must say. It might be the type of tyre fitted as original equipment.

I was driving a Fiat Brava which had wind and engine noise, but was still less irritating.Have you got any suggestins?

It`s a road noise, even worst on rough road surface.My tyres are 205/45R16 low profile- originally fitted. Have you got any suggestions?

If it's the tyres (does the noise reduce greatly on smooth 'quiet' road surfaces) then you could:
1) Change to a type of tyre known to be quieter.
2) Fit narrower 15" wheels with narrower, higher profile tyres (might invalidate insurance, though).
3) Avoid rough road surfaces.

Try it with higher tyre pressures (maybe use the full load pressures).

By the way, does the ignition switch in yours feel 'mushy' - ie, not have the usual definite Position 1, Pos 2 etc?
