I have just taken my car to a Ford garage to have the starter motor changed and when I got the car back the alarm does not work. Does anyone know how to reset the alarm?

Don't know if this applies to your Polo, but I had a 95 VW Vento with a VW alarm fitted and the control unit was a black plastic unit on the nearside bulkhead (under bonnet near front wheel arch). There was a rubber weather sheath on top, and if this was raised there was a key toggle to enable/disable the system. Hope this is of some use, if not I'm sure a Polo whizz will respond to you soon!
