How does this work? When I look at car windows with double glazing I can't see anything different.

I need to be infront of you with a pen and paper so that I can draw some nice pictures for you.
Here goes in a text form.
Imagine a normal side glass, it sits slightly in from the outer frame, then on the outside (or inside depending on the car) of that normal piece stick a smaller piece with the gaps made by the adhesive. So from the outside they look pretty normal appart from a black obscuration band hiding the adhesive.
I'll have a dig through my favorites and find some diagrams.

For Morris Travelers you can have the genuine wooden ones, or horrible UPVC?!
|
More importantly, what's the point? Is it supposed to reduce noise or is it just a gimmick to sell more cars?

Hi
My sis's S class MB's got Dg - keeps down the noise from the riff raff in the outside environment - keeps in heat and keeps out the cold.
If i bought a new car and it was a cost option that cost more than ten quid, i wouldn't bother.
all mB's have heat insulating glas, just like my humble c class.
Thanks
