Free text traffic warnings on genie - Andrew Hamilton
Just wondering if anyone has not heard of the free text alerts to mobile phones from www.Genie.co.uk There are a variety, only footy you pay for, but the motoring info. alert usually comes about once a day.
(You can also send text messages as if from your mobile for free which can be a saving!)

I tried the RAC version of this, which links to traffic master. I thought it would be useful for me, as I travel across the dreaded Thelwall Viaduct and M62 each day.

Costs £35 for the year, for which you get a text message, if there is a 10 min delay (or whatever delay you have asked to be told of). this simply tells you to ring #####. Pretty pointless if you ask me. I know it isn't safe to read texts if you are driving, but its just as bad to ring up too. Not only do they want £35 to send you messages, you also have to pay for the calls.

Not what it was cracked up to be.

Anyone else got any experience of this?

Regards

Jonathan
