Pesky roof mounted aerial has broken off. Antenna screws into roof mounted stud. I definitely need new stud, and probably new antenna too. Any advice on difficulty of (a) sourcing parts and (b) tackling job.... (b) looks very messy with having to take acres of trim off in the cabin....

hiya, i don't know if its exactly the same as the 93-98 mondeo, but it is then the repair should be easy. Get a spare ariel from a scrappy, it will be cheapest. Then if i remember correctly, look up between the top of the windscreen and the central light/sunroof handle etc etc
and there should be what looks like a blanking plate in between
flip this out and it will give you access to the base of the ariel. Unscrew and replace.
This is from memory (When i was 15 and an early Mk1 so if i am wrong sorry).
