hi my astra is driving me mad,when driving the engine cuts out when reaching a certain temprature,if you leave it for a couple of minutes its ok and starts again,it cuts out when the dial on the temp display reaches half way before the fan cuts in,any ideas?

If it cuts out again after another few minutes then almost certainly the Hall Switch in the distributor. If it is a Bosch (Brown Cap) then the parts are available, if Lucas then a recon dis required. Its a common problem and easy to test.
