Saab 9-3 TiD - Big Mack
I've just become the proud owner of a Saab turbodiesel, having found that the 9-3 cabrio just wasn't suitable for my business needs. While I'm dead chuffed with it so far, I can't quite get my head around the 18k service interval. Should I at least change the oil at about £10k or earlier, and, if so, should I be using synthetic or "regular" oils? Anything else to watch out for?

Is this new or used? Please e mail me at 5oba-drhf@spamex.com if you want any views on my 5 year's ownership of a Tdi from new. Be sure that you have the latest information from SAAB re checking the engine oil level - it is VITAL that you do it their way or you risk overfilling by 1 litre and causing damage.

First Reg July 03, bought with 5226 miles on the clock. Haven't got as far as teh oil checks yet in the manual!

If you don't fine a very specific procedure mentioned in the book or given to you as an A4 sheet by the dealer, please e mail me. I don't want to take up HJs bandwidth with the details!
