Transit 2.4 tddi - 2006 transit 2.4 starting issue - Jason_app

Have a listen to the video i did yesterday morning from cold. It started first time then you hear it stall once revved and from then on its a nightmare to start.

If it wasnt for the obvious loss of compression you could say its fuel issue or even glow plug issue.

Thoughts asap would be appreciated.

Sounds a lot like fuel stavation,

A lot like when a fuel filter is changed and it's trying to draw fuel up to the filter.

I heard a little voice say 'did you see the smoke' if it was white its unburnt fuel, could still be fuel starvation. Does it have an in tank fuel pump?

I have to admit I always seem to have "fun" changing fuel filters on these,

b*****s never seem to want to prime,

I usually resort to very small bursts of starter fluid to aid it,

That said it might be an idea to carefully remove the filter when this fault happens and see IF there is any fuel in it.
