2008 Corsa CDTi 1.3 - ECU issues - Gary Courtney

Hi, the car wont go above 3000 revs. i put it in the garage and they are saying i need a new ECU at £850. The yellow spanner light is on but the engine management light does not come on. Everything on the car is working but it just wont go over 3000 revs. Any ideas?

Spanner light means it needs serviced.

When was that last done?

You need to service your car. Go to the garage an do at least an oil and oil filter change if not a dpf aditive top up.

After that, reset the service light and maybe the garage wil do that for you after tehy service the car.

As far as I am aware Vauxhall do not use a DPF additive so nothing to top up. In truth I am pretty ceratin that 1.3 CDTi's of that vintage did not have a DPF.

It probably does have DPF, my 2007 1.3 CDTi has a DPF unfortunately. Although it has never caused any problems apart from costing £12-50 for a little pipe for the sensor as the old one was stuck solid in the link pipe.
