Ford Fusion - Ford Fusion Transmission and Communication error - MonkeySkittles

Hi all,

We've got a 2009 Ford Fusion with tiptronic style gearbox, 37,000 miles. It broke down while driving the other day and gives 'Transmission Error' on the dash.

Local Ford garage has looked at it and diagnosed the following codes:

P0919
P1799
C1222
U0404

The quote is £1000-£3000 to fix. (£1000 to fix transmission error, but they're not sure if that'll fix the communication error, which could be another £2000).

Can any Ford gurus tell me if that sounds right? Or offer any advice about how to get rid of the car without losing all money? They've offered £500 trade-in for it.

These semi auto robot transmission systems are far from perfect and an absolute nightmare to fix economically.I would not spend a penny on fixing this .Take the trade in offer or stick it on flea bay as spares or repair.
